I referred the images of the bend and bracket to the supplier and they didn’t seem to thick it was a problem but then this morning I noticed that the four vertical lines to the front were more than superficial.

Looks like a trip to Chesterfield if I’m going to get it fitted this weekend.   ::)

Thats not good....

Any chance you can pickup a puller for an aircon compresor whilst there?

We have a spare aircon pump you can take so they can get the right one.

No Autokool, though purchased through their Ebay listings.

Used Autokool this week for a air-con recharge, oiled, uv dye, de-odourised (mint flavour!) and full system vac and check over - seemed a good professional set-up and was quite impressed with the service.  Cost £50 all in, still had 2/3rds of gas in - system takes 900g mine had 600g left.  They are based in Barlborough M1 J30 (literally just off J30) http://www.autokool.co.uk

Pretty sure if Autokool value their customers then there'll be no question of them changing it....   WHO's the bl00dy courier? is my question....   DON'T FIT THAT ONE....

Well I got back to AutoKool, with a photo of the dint/burn lines to the condenser and expressed my wish to come and change it, since I needed it Saturday.  This time they offered to deliver a replacement with the old one being returned with the same courier and therefore saving me the trip. (Sorry Mark/Pete).

Good result/service then from AutoKool but as interesting is their follow-up Email in which they quote their supplier/importer’s response…

“THE LINES FROM TOP TO BOTTOM ARE MANUFACTURING LINES WHERE THE CONDENSER HAS BEEN ON THE MACHINE THAT HEATS THE CONDENSER TO WELD ALL THE ALLOY IN PLACE THIS IS QUITE NORMAL ON LARGER CONDENSERS AND I HAVE SEEN THIS BEFORE ON THE OMEGA O.E CONDENSERS FROM DELPHI AFTER CHECKING THE OTHERS IN STOCK ARE ALL THE SAME SO SENDING A REPLACEMENT WILL NOT SOLVE THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS.
PLEASE ADVISE ACCORDINGLY”

That might possibly be the case but, its still shaped like a banana and has bent brackets on it.....an aluminium doesn't like being bent and then bent back again!

Manufacturing process yes but looks like they've over cooked it.  Just hope that the replacement is not so well done, and that its not shaped like a banana.  ;D

Don't believe it   >:(

Popped the box open and another banana compleate with bent bracket - the old photos could have been of the new condenser.  This time however, there was no obvious damage to the box that coincided with the damage.

Needless to say I refused to accept it and the courier ended up taking them both away!

Anyone recomend an alternative to AutoKool?
