Fit some replacement rear shocks
Fit a pair of wishbones
Move the bloody sticker
Sand the headlights with 400 grit wet and dry (wet), then some 800 and 1200 followed by a buff up with T-cut or G3.
Replace the exhaust mounting (probably just a rubber missing)
Service the brakes and change the fluid.
Sort the exhaust leak (most likely to be manifold to front pipe)

Good more detail.

You could fit replacement covers to the shocks to hide the rust.

Find the brake pad sensor wires and short them together.

I have covers for the shocks but what Mark is trying to tell you is replace the shocks for your own safety they are not expensive i got a pair for 60 quid and its not hard to fit them 2 bolts to be exact one top one bottom.

Brake pad sensors are about 7 pounds best to have them than not

Berluddy Yell.....  We all want safe motors, BUT, that's taking the P155 about the sticker...   What sticker is it?   I want one...       Surely that's an advisory unless it's an Elvis Lives sticker....   Then the car needs crushing anyway

But seriuosly,  all pretty simple to sort out, if you're OK with spanners...  wishbones may present the worst probs..

sorry to hear about your MOT failure esp after all you have already done.  I have a spare brake pad sensor if you want it and it is easy to fit.  I will have to check what time I have off and when the missus is away next but I can pop up to give you a hand again.  It all seems pretty trivial stuff - sounds like you have an anal mot tester which is better than a lax one even though its a pain in the arse!

I take it the emissions were ok?  Or did the exhaust blow affect the readings?

I've started, getting the wishbones off, but the ball joint is proving a F*****g b***h to get loose.

If you can spare a couple hours, I'd buy some beer! :-)

I've spent 6 hours so far, gone through 2 scissor jacks, and one ball joint splitter?!!?!?!

We said the wishys would give the greater problems of all...   You really need a good quality splitter, not that you haven't already!  These joints can be barstewards on any vehicle, they've alot of weight on them...  try some heat and plus gas...  don't set yourself on fire though... they might think you've commited suicide!!!!

Keep at it, don't give in, 10/10 for agreeing to have a go at it rather than breaking the car....  at a real push, it may be easier to remove the whole suspension strut an do it in a vice etc....  DON't GIVE UP......  OK?

Wedged a socket extension bar between the balljoint pincher thing, and the wishbose, and jacked up the partially removed wishbone with a trolley jack! B***ard came out then! Grrrrrr!
Hopefully ther drivers side will be easier!!!! :-)

New problem... (Seems endless!!!)
Whilst she was up on the axel stands, I had a look at why the exhaust failed... 1 of the two bolts wasn't totally tightened up, although it was tight.. (If that makes sense..)
So, whilst I was already soaking wet from the rain, and totally worn out, I decided to tighten the bolt! 10 degrees of turning, and the f***king thing snapped!
Any suggetions!?!? (Bearing in mind, I've never had this much trouble with a car before, and the only thing keeping me from scrapping her, is your kind words, and the fact I've spent about a billion quid on her already!!!!!)

whicjh bit of exhaust? can to undo sheared bolt, and just replace? Or drill it and nut and bolt it?
