White smoke from exhaust
« on: 18 July 2007, 19:28:50 »

Anyone know a decent garage in the Milton Keynes area.
Got an 02 Omega 2.2,white smoke from the exhaust, uses a little water, running a bit rough and brakes need extra hard push.
Head gasket or what, any ideas please
Thanks

Not friggin Crownhill Vauxhall!!!

Omegas, like most decent engines, do generate a fair bit of moisture as part of the combustion process. The coolant loss and white smoke may be 2 different problems.

Worth checking for coolant leaks, esp HBV.  How much is it losing?

Hope you are putting in proper 50:50 antifreeze mix ;)

As said, check for leaks before writing off HG...

Any ideas why im getting rough running and the braking problem, all started at the same time.
Should i have an ecu test,to see what the fault codes are.

If brake servo not working, you'd have to suspect vacuum leak, which would cause bad idling I would have thought.

Is the EML on? If not, not worth reading codes (BTW, I'll be the chespest around here for getting codes read ;))
