the trip computer / multi function display is only part displaying, not all the led's light up, any suggestions?

Can be repaired but after time become the same..The conductor surface is weak.

Temperature (possibly) and vibration breaks the sticky material that combines tha glass display and conducting material..If you try to repair you need soldering first to reach inside....

Earlier type MIDs are prone to this....  ....replacement is way to go.  Remember to get earlier 2 plug type, later 1 plug wont fit.  Unless off same engine/gearbox combo, it will need reprogramming...
