Stainless Steel Exhaust
« on: 08 August 2007, 18:31:24 »

I have to change my Exhaust for the MOT and the cheapest I could find was through National Tyres fro £224, that  got me top thinking it can't be much more for a Stainlees Steel one which i'll never need to change again and will look alot better anyways.
Can anyone recommend a SS one and how much, don't want any big tail pipes or anything too loud as it's my every day car and I don't want it to look boy racerish.
Cheers Rich

They are normally around the £500 mark, but mind it normally affects your insurance asit's classed as a modification.

Vauxhall Trade Club card, but you will need either to borrow one from someone localish or join another club like www.autobahnstormers.org for £20 and you get one that way. The £20 joining fee you get back the first time you use it nearly because of the mega discount the card gets you at Vauxhalls ;)

Hello Sonic, don't do it !   I put a none GM exhaust on my 2.5 Elite 30,000 miles / 15 months ago and regret it every time I start the engine. Find the price of a GM system and you can use my TC (autobahnstormers) card.
The GM/Vauxhall exhaust system is just so much better.
best regards   :y

I'll second that G.M is a quality exhaust, double skinned sections, and will make your V6 sound like it should, unlike a cheap copy exhaust. Genuine will last a lot longer too :y

I did look at that one but it has been built with only one central silencer and thought it would be too loud.

Alas, I think you will be disappointed with the noise from the one you bought. Sorry.

Looking on the bright side, you will be replacing it again in a couple of years, as the quality of the cheap pattern ones is that poor it will fail.
