V 6 HT lead positions
« on: 24 August 2007, 20:33:59 »

Started the passenger side cam cover reseal today.

While the top is off I am going to replace the dis pack and leads with a newer one from my donor car.

Pulled the HT leads off to get the bolts out and when I got the replacement out I'm sure the leads are wrong.

can someone confirm the lead positions for a 3.0ltr please.

Whilst typing this, I just thought that the firing order is different for a 2.5ltr might that be why the leads are different??

This is as new dis pack

I think that the left and right banks are supplied from different sides of the dis pack on the 3.0ltr!

Thats what I thought  :)

I pulled off 4,6,2 from the dis pack and was sure the leads on the back of the dis pack all went to the drivers side of the engine.

The car this pack came off had a headgasket gone and a misfire

Q. would the crossed leads have contributed to the HG failure?

Thanks  :y
