climate control
« on: 01 September 2007, 17:16:09 »

I seem to have a problem with the CDX, the climate control works fine in the front of the vehicle but the rear seems not right.

When i have it set on say, 18 degrees, the front is nice and cool but the rear center vents are blowing very hot, if I turn up the heat the front blows cool but no change with the rear.

I remember reading something about this before on the forum.

Can anyone advise.

Thanks

You could try resetting the servos, by pressing AUTO & OFF buttons Simultaneously for Approx' 5 Secs and see if this sorts it.

Just been reading a bit about air con, climate control, the script talks about air con rads and matrix.

Would that mean rads as the same as a rad on the car, but in a very smaller version.
Would that air con rad have coolant in it or gasses.
If it is coolant would it be on the same system as the main rad or would it be an independant system.

Your thoughts on this please.

Few things...

The A/C gas (or lack of) won't make the system misbehave like yours - it will simply not provide chilled air.

There is one radiator (engine cooling) and one heater matrix, so again, not symptoms you describe.

I may need a little think on this one  :-/

When I put the circulation to screen it does stop coming out of the rear vents, also if I put it to floor it stops coming out of the rear vents.

If it were the ball joints would it come out of the rear all the time.

Yes mate, when I put the temp to high, the rear stays hot but the front is very cold from the vents.

Its a brain teaser this one.

Got to be the air distribution flaps have disconnected themselves from their servos...

If you were nearer, I'd get the Tech2 on it to see what it thinks its doing...
