The ones factory fitted to our '03 Elite estate are audio only. They work really well (towbar also fitted  ;D) and the buzzer seems to be located in the C pillar.

I'm after a set for the CD estate which look and perform as close to factory spec as possible. Would anybody be kind enough to fire up a few links as to products might be best??? As mentioned, there's LOADS on the bay, don't really want to buy crap.

Not bothered on the visual display, just after a really tidy install, the car is black as well so hopefully they won't need painting.

As a personal opinion, I despise of parking sensors.

Technology on cars is getting such that anything that requires "judgement" such as parking is being done for you, and people will forget how to do thigns for themselves soon.

I prefer to park by using my own observations, rather than waiting for beeps... keeps driving/parking skills much more up to scratch.

There are too many posts now below boot height, I find them invaluable.

This is true. Street furniture these days is shocking with respect to visibility from cars. Designed to protect the street, sod your car.

I agree with both side of the argument on this yes you should be able to park with out them i always use mirrors etc but I just can not see the back end of the omega and althought I do have a towbar as a bit of an early warning I did still manage to hit a small post on my last one and it just dinged the chrome strip  >:( could not blame anyone but me for that . I have them fitted to this one and would fit again to next one its much cheaper than repairing a bumper but everyone has there opinion on these as we do everything else in life  :y Oh and if any one needs a new buzzer I have a couple I ordered a couple 3 through work and ended up with loads  30 they would not take them back it was not worth the cost of sending them back apparently If you want one pm me  :y

The omega is a big, long car, you only have to look at 75% of the FRONT bumpers on them to see just how many people have trouble parking them. They've all got scrapes!

Reversing sensors are useful like on our driveway where space is limited and cars have to be parked as close to the walls/doors as possible. As said, they are a parking AID, not a substitute for proper parking! And hopefully stops all the crap drivers (with towbars also) making contact with the bumpers on your nice new motor James!

Anything that aids the driving / reversing of a car has got to be an advantage, else we would still be giving hand signals.

I already have two parking aids ...  :)

1.  SWMBO with a voice that rises an octave when she thinks I'm too close .. and remember she drives a clit she has just bent !!

2.  Nice solid towbar  :)

Yeah, I've got one of those parking sensors too. Don't suppose you've found a way to reset them? Mine goes off when I fail to park in the space it thinks would be best and just keeps going until the battery's flat.

Haven't been allowed anywhere near that region for some while .. I was under the impression that once past the age of 50 the "bra strap" became the "bra tensioner" and was made of reinforced kevlar ??  :)

so finding a switch there could prove a dangerous, albeit life threatening, procedure ....  :)
