Crank shaft sensor problems help!!!!!
« on: 30 September 2007, 15:22:29 »

Well we have replaced the crankshaft sensor and the stalling we had on idle has stopped also cleaned up the MAF sensor which has removed the 74 fault code.

The crank shaft fault code 19 still remains without EML light and the car will not rev over 3500 and accerleration over this point is very juddery and noisy. Up till the 3500 mark seems to be ok and running quite smooth.

We have been adviced that the cam sensor maybe at fault as well??

Any thoughts greatly apprieciated

No ecu light on?
It wont be the cam sensor
It wont have been the MAF either, its a common code that is thrown when the crank sensor fails.

Exactly what codes remain?

19 still means its not happy with crank sensor.

Due to routing, and brittleness of cable, 2nd hand ones are not much cop.

Well bit the bullet and bought a new sensor fitting went without a hitch.

Car now runs better than before and is able to rev to full range, however car has stalled again twice today after motorway run of 45 miles once car had cooled problem solved.

EML light still off but paperclip test still says crankshaft sensor help please this is really doing my head in!!!!!!! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Also, it will require so many "clean" starts, (or Tech2) to clear the code from the ECU memory..
