engine management light
« on: 18 November 2007, 13:34:36 »

Hi Guys.........I have just bought a 2.2 CD Omega 2000. I went for a long drive yesterday after replacing the  :'(battery, I went to start my car this morning and the engine management light came on, I was'nt to bothered as my Frontera light would come on all the time. However I had loss of power. I put the car into D and at first it seemed ok as I drive very slow out of my road, when I got onto the main drag I had to put it into position 1 to make it move. When getting to asda it just cut out. I managed to get home but I am worried. Its only done 68k and Ive only had it 7 weeks, Could someone please shed some light on the problem.

Many thanks

Hello and Welcome

To investigate the problem you really need to get the codes read, Marks DTM and The Boy can do this with the genuine TECH II equipment and lots of other people on here have code readers that will at least read the code.

If you add your location details into your profile then we can advise who closest to you.

Really need to get the codes read to find out what the ECU thinks is wrong.

Cam sensor is somewhat problematic on 2.2s

Sounds likely.
