I'm not sure, when you start the car up from cold (like first thing in the morning when it's been -2 or so this week) there is a metallic rattling sound that lasts for about 20 secs but I can't track it down, tried just slackening the tensioner while just started but noise still there. If you start the car up say 7 hours later the noise isn't there.

Trouble is that i've got the children all weekend so the first chance I will get to play in daylight is next Sunday morning (A week), was going to slip the belt off and start it up, at least then i'll know definatively if it's something on the aux belt side or not  :-/. If the noise goes i'll replace the tensioner first then work my way around belt route...

Will add that car feels and drives absolutely fine, timing still feels (from driving) to be spot on and i've red lined it plenty of times with no problem.

Mine was doing similar .. noisey when cold .. ok when run for a few minutes ,...  but very soon - 5 days - went to very noisey all the time ... after replacing it was obvious why .... the bearings were extremely "notchy" ... a few more days I reckon they would have siezed :(

A good £25 and 15 minutes of work and its a quiet as a quiet thing  :)

Thing is, it's a dry metallic sound so wouldn;t expect it to be the tensioner as we repacked it with grease...

Find out soon I guess!
