Omega 3lt. Intermittent Cut Out

I own a 1995 Omega Elite 3lt. Auto with all the bells and whistles that a car of that era could have. The car has covered 87000 miles and is in very very good condition. The car has been serviced and maintained to a high standard.

My problem is, for no reason the engine decides to cut out when slowing down. I have had the car to various Vauxhall Garages but nothing shows up on the computer. One of the garages replaced the crankshaft Sensor but this has made no difference. I have not had the car all that long but this problem has progressively got worse. It is a great shame for a car that looks and runs like a bird.

Has anyone had this problem and if so, can you please suggest what could be causing this irregular happening. I would be most greatful for any advise. Thank you in advance for any help.

Regards,
Andy

What's the Idle Air Control ICV like? That's where I'd start. Clean it out with something like Wynns Carb cleaner.

Worth doing a paperclip test (as its free ;)) to check for cranksensor issues, but ICV sounds more likely now...
