Accurate description of seat trim
« on: 04 January 2008, 22:00:05 »

Latest mishap ... passenger seat heater has caught fire and melted a 2inch square into the seat, looks like I'll be needing to find complete, working elite front seats, I'm supposing that I'll need to change both in order to have "similar" colouring due to weathering etc - I reckon if both are changed as a pair they will not "contrast" as much.

In order to track down the correct seats I need to describe them accurately on the breaker search pages, so the question is .. how do I get the right description ???

From the Parkers guide page I THINK I have "Dots Velour Trim - grey"  but how do I confirm this ?? I can't find a listing of trims to VIN anywhere

Any one any ideas - and even better .. any elite velour seats in full working order ??   :-/

How about eBay? Velour seats do come up from time to time as most people would prefer leather.

I have ONE Elite Velor heated seat in perfect order. Not sure if it's drivers or passenger side though. I'll check! If it's any good, it's free to a good home...

I can confirm that looks like Dots Velour to me.

If you change the pair, I may be in the market for your old drivers one (and rears if you buy a set) - 3 out of 4 of mine have knackered heaters....

Have now discovered that the "trim code" for my seats is XXMG, so if anyone sees any

Elite front seats, Dots velour grey, XXMG in decent condition I would be extremely grateful .. :)
