fuel consumption

hi all only been signed a couple of days the site is great i have a omega 2.5v6 cdx auto i bought it on sunday and find i cant stop looking at the fuel gauge going down the computer shows its doing 20 mpg is this right i never seem to be away from the petrol station cheers all keep up the good work  :y

Hiya mate, I have the 2.6 CDX and i am getting about 18 around town and about 28 on the motorway

Maybe a little more around town - my 3.0 does around 21/22 - but not much more. If you look at my 'fuel consumption' post in gen chat you find that if careful you might get up to c30mpg

yep thats about right! get on a good out of town run and it will improve.my 3.0ltr will do25/29 on a motorway run. dont forget £20 isnt much fuel these days!! :-?

lol not really hoofing it took it easy tonight and it went to 22 mpg but i love the sound when it kicks down is there anything i could do to improve mpg apart from gas conversion!!! that would cost more than the car ha ha

how do you get 22mpg out of a 3litre auto.have you got a raw egg placed on the go pedal?

get a lighter right foot ;D

hopefully, when novelty wears off, economy may improve when you start going a bit more sedately ;)

Get 22 on my daily commute but can do a lot better on a decent motorway run.

Just don't look at instant consumption when you kick it down up a hill......

I am currently averaging 23/24mpg from MV6 auto, naff commute to work and back...

I was talking to the local A/C specialist who is an ex Jag mech. He still plays with them & has a race prep'd V12 It does about 3mpg :o

I did say about! ;D Maybe it was my 2.2 Carlton with a 'van on the back I was confused with. ;)
