Results for paperclip test.

12 12 12 137 137 137 144 144 144 12 12 12.

Does this mean i have to change ECU and Cranksensor.

Or just check them :-[

The circuit diagrams show some versions having a cooling fan in the ecu area, diseasals I think.

Would yours have one, is it working?

You'll need a code reader / resetter to reset the codes.

ECU failure is a VERY rare occurance ... and usually wrongly suspected by mechanics who have poor understandings of engine management systems. Hving said that, it does happen, but only a fraction of what you would believe...

Do any dash lights (Eg the EML) flash when you are cranking the engine?

As an aside, i've seen a couple of non starting V6's be fixed by a new crank sensor, yet there has been no code 19 in the memory..

In which case, the non starting is your crank sensor. almost definately.

I suggest you fit new sensor as per guide on here, it's a 15min job.

Then, take it somewhere the codes can be cleared (or get a reader for about 30 quid) and keep an eye to see if the 137 code comes back.

I don't think there are any major problems here.

Thanks that sounds reassuring. I have never gotten to know a vehicle like i do the omega now. I am an Electronic eng, and it sounds exciting the ease in doing all this. I should be ordering a sensor from AndyC. I will chek the wires as i am told that most time its the wires on the sensors as it is near hot exhaust areas. I will check to see if that is crushed or melted first.
What of the 144 what is wrong with the immobiliser.
Lastly where can i get the read. These Opel are just getting to Africa and i sure think i can help others.
Thanks
