Thanks that sounds reassuring. I have never gotten to know a vehicle like i do the omega now. I am an Electronic eng, and it sounds exciting the ease in doing all this. I should be ordering a sensor from AndyC. I will chek the wires as i am told that most time its the wires on the sensors as it is near hot exhaust areas. I will check to see if that is crushed or melted first.
What of the 144 what is wrong with the immobiliser.
Lastly where can i get the read. These Opel are just getting to Africa and i sure think i can help others.
Thanks
144 is likely to be a very old code (one of the few codes that never delete themselves).

As to clearing codes, if you have a suitable PC, consider a 'cheapo tech2'

ecu in box by battery.

Cheapo Tech2 £30ish from ebay, but do a search here to understand its limitations and what computers it works with.

Do any dash lights (Eg the EML) flash when you are cranking the engine?

As an aside, i've seen a couple of non starting V6's be fixed by a new crank sensor, yet there has been no code 19 in the memory..
Hoping that's my problem

They were all built in Russelheim

For key, its either dealer or a good autolocksmith. Carpass will be required, again, dealer only.

I might be very wrong ... but even with a new crank sensor ( for the 19 error) without the electronics it still won't start ??? as that controls the immobilisor ??

With luck an expert will pass by shortly and corrct me if I'm wrong .... :(
