hello my omega 01 3.0 has started mis firing again just before christmas put in new genuine plugs did not help so then after christmas i fitted a new coilpack (ebay not genuine) and it seemed to stop the misfire but at times i thought it was still misfiring under light throttle but not as bad but it is now getting a lot worse so a few days ago i fitted new bosch spark plug leads but that still did not help and it has now started to cut out at times when idleing and some times the rev counter will jump and almost stall the engine .it has not put on the EML light yet but i will go out and do the paper test on it just in case , i am thinking crankshaft sensor but would it have anything to do will the misfire or just a coincidence any way i will post back any saved codes, this problem is really pi**ing me off to the extent it will be for sale if it does not start behaving it self soon

Paperclip test would definitely be a help but you say the coil pack sorted the misfire before.  Really hope that buying the coil pack off ebay hasn't been a false economy.  

Check the wiring to the injectors - it's particularly poor on mine but my engine is a 2.0 litre so don't know if your car suffers from the same.  

I'm sure someone with a bit more expertise will be along shortly to offer you a solution.

Are any fluids leaking?
Oil into plugwells, water into plugwells, coolant onto dispack?

ok just done the paper clip test fault code 19 incorrect rpm signal also 144 immobiliser no signal (got this before probaly because ex plod) as for the plugwells all dry with no collent leaks at all.

does anybody no the price of a crankshaft sensor and are any of the ebay ones any good ( i suspect not as i don,t think they are genuine )my crank shaft sensor has a oval plug is  there any difference in this type other than oval plug or square plug?

Did you do the test with the engine running?? If so then yes definitely crank shaft needs changing...if not then redo it with the engine running otherwise the fault is inconclusive...

yes the engine was running do you no the current price for the sensor ,what about ebay sensors ? could this be anything to do with my misfire? (i doubt it but what do you guys think)

anybody know if the crankshaft sensor would have caused the misfire or not or is it just a coincidence that it failed at this time? and what about ebay sensors ? what price is vx sensors?

19 is conclusive - knackered crank sensor. Stick to GM one.

fitted new cam sensor sorted out that problem but it is still misfiring under light load new plugs fitted genuine vx new dis pac fitted non genuine new plug leads bosch  now running out of ideas as to the cause of my misfire doe anybody have any other things they can think of?

Why change the cam sensor when the original fault was the crank sensor?  The crank sensor would have been first on my list to change.

today car is stalling again   and trying to cut out every 30 seconds or so ,some times the ecu stops it stalling other times it does,nt just down paper clip test still showing 144 immoblizer and 19 crank sensor but that is probaly a stored fault what do you cheak next ?

Work through the setup checking for air leaks, pay attention ot the brake servo pipe because if its been badly re-fitted at some point it can wear against the aircon line and make a hole.

Did you use genuine Vauxhall crank sensor?
