Sunroof corrosion - further update.
« on: 31 March 2008, 21:20:33 »

Collected my car on Saturday and all the doors had been repainted from the trim down and the tailgate completely resprayed (glass out and all new badges etc.) all done to a very high standard indeed if any thing better than the original finish.

However the sunroof had not been touched so I asked the receptionist why it had not been done and she said that the manager was out all morning and if I wanted the car just take it now and he would ring me on Moday to explain.

I was doubtful but as I had been without the car for 2 weeks reluctantly agreed to take it - several people had warned me that the sunroof is not covered by the anti-perforation warranty so I expected the worst.

This morning I get a phone call from the manager apologising for not being there to explain properly on Saturday, a brand new sunroof is on back order and should arrive in 3 - 4 weeks so they released the car until it arrives.

I will be away on holiday in 2 weeks time so when I get back it should be ready for fitting.

Despite all the horror stories about Vauxhall service I have to say that they have been excellent with this claim so far, let you know the outcome when the new panel is fitted.

Impressive  :y

I had a corrosion claim on my last Vectra and the dealer did a good job, had to spray the whole of the bottom of the car on one side for two little rust spots on the edge of the door.

I wonder if it's possible to buy the sunroof trim on it's own and how much of a job it is to replace? Bet it's a 'sunroof out' job  :(

It is impressive I must admit, forgot to mention that they even repaired a small patch on the bonnet slam panel where there was bubbling around a spot weld plus an area on the front wheel arch that had bubbled.
