eating juice

anyone help please - my car is eating juice all off a sudden.  performance is fine, not losing power - any ideas?

Engine light on?  Does the EML appear on the dash with the ignition on then turn off when the car is started?  Codes read?

Have you checked for oil in the spark plug wells? May not affect performance but may affect mpg...

just had new rocker covers gaskets fitted, so wont be that mate,  cheers anyway

How much is it using? What does the mfd say on average mpg?

Have any vac pipes been left adrift or connected incorrectly ???

have not checked mfd.

usually does about 300. on full tank, last time filled up it has done around 240  250

300 miles might be about right for a 3.0 if you're doing a lot of short journeys.

i agree,  but she has only managed 240.250,   mindd you was nit hanging around,  maybe thats the cause

Right foot action is the prime cause of "eating fuel"  !

Seriously .. if you drasticaly change your driving habits on a single run you will see wildly varying results .. if I drive my 3.2 "sensibly" on a long run ( gentle acceleration, legal speed limits ) I can get low 30's to the gallon  so 300+ to the tank ... as soon as I start to enjoy myself its down to 25 mpg ... if I go daft (  :-/  ) its a low as 18 mpg !!

not long had service, plugs. etc, will do oil change this weekend,  will keep close eye on fuel,  maybe my big right foot.
