Batteries on TC
« on: 10 April 2008, 09:26:37 »

Hello All,

Just rang my local dealer to find out the price on a Battery for my 2.5TD, and he says it's £86+VAT and there's no Trade Club available on that.

Does that sound right?? I think it's the 85Ah one.

Pete.

Thanks Matchless,

Is there a part number, the poor chap must be confused and needs all the help he can get?

Hi
There seems to be considerable reluctance on the part of Vx dealers to give Trade Club pricing.  I am still trying to persuade my local dealer that the Autobahnstormers card that I hold is valid for Trade Club.  Anybody else have the same problem.

i havent found any problem with the AS card, but it is true that some dealers don't participate in TC at all. as mentioned elsewhere, i have to order my parts from a dealer 20 miles away and get them to deliver it to their sister branch nearby as the local one won't accept TC, despite the two branches being part of the same franchise.

i'm going to try and get a halfords TC tomorrow night. fingers crossed...

Have a word with Alf from the ABS. He'll have a word in their shell like. His predesessor (sp?) did the same for me when my local dealers were reluctant to give TC prices.

Well, local dealer still claims it's not on Trade Club, and as he hasn't got any in stock can't give discount anyway.

Not quite so local Dealer is happy to get one in by this afternoon with the discount.

Not quite so local Dealer will be getting my business in the future!

Hi
Thanks for the reply.  I've just chased up my local dealer again, if no response I'll contact Alf.  Can you give more contact details for him  please.
Thanks
Alan
PS
No sooner had I sent the above than I received an email from local dealer confirming acceptance of ABS Card for Trade Club pricing.
Yipee
