One day in March this year, when collecting my daughter (6) from school, a mum of one of her close friends told me she was taking her daughter to see "Peter Pan on Ice" that evening. Knowing that my little one loved the story, and not wishing her to lose out, I got home and booked up. There were still a couple of the top price seats available (well she is my princess!!). Anyway I took her to St Albans and resigned myself to 2 hours of boredom.....
How wrong I was!
I have to say that I was completely blown away by the performance and would happily have sat through it all again there and then. Anyway, to cut a long story short I have booked 20 front-row seats so all her friends to see the next production ("Beauty and the Beast") at Dunstable in December. Practically all the the Russian skaters who make up the cast have championship medals behind them and the music and costumes are superb. This is NOT Disney cheesiness.
This is not everyone's cup of tea and I'm sure I'll get a few sarcastic comments, but if you have kids or are a kid at heart, I can thoroughly recommend these performers. Incidentally, they're doing "Peter Pan" again in Cambridge over Christmas.
