Extra hour in bed tomorrow night.....
« on: 26 October 2007, 23:06:21 »

Goodbye BST, clocks go back one hour tomorrow night, so we can all have an extra hour in bed, or an extra hour on here if you're sad.  ;D

Extra hour in the nightclubs more like.... payback for spring when they toss you out an hour early (even though the price to get in stays the same).

Oh and I bloody hate it when the clocks go back TBH... just serves to remind you it's rather winter when you're going home at 5pm and it's already getting dark >:( I bet the suicide rates jump when GMT time kicks in! I have to admit living in Scotland is damn depressing in winter, that and the shitty weather are the two main things that are tempting me to move to Cali or Oz once I finish uni.

Should do away with it, complete waste of time, the guy that brought it out is dead now, and he only done it cos he went riding his horse in the spring mornings before going to parlaiment  8-)

I think it was initially done for the Farmers......so it was light enough in the mornings.....however i carnt see any need for it now......esp as ive seen farmers out ploughing/etc at 10pm with the tractors and field lit up like a football ground  ::)

another reason the the time change was that the dark mornings increase the risk of children being involved in accidents on their way to school due to darkness, the change in time saw the accident rate drop considerably

round here that wont make any difference at all now, the kids all get driven to school, even next door takes their in the car, by foot the school is 500 yards away on a private footpath, by car 1/4 mile (figure that)  ::)
