Yes what a result, well done :y he had no right to do that to your car, good on you i say for hitting him ,he deserved every thing he got, if that had happen to james car he would have done the same and went mad....

As much as I have a bad temper, there is absolutely no way I would excercise physical violence because someone was careless with my car.

Yes, I would be angry, and yes, I would be taking further action about it. BUT, it would be of the formal kind.

It would take a LOT more than this to make me physically violent.

So your comment is wrong, I would NOT have done the same, and if you really think that, I'm very disappointed.

I usually bite my tonge, but it was the fact he pushed me onto his van with some force,

AND MY BELOVED OMEGA WAS DAMAGED.

you had every right to go mad, no one should damage your car and then get away with it, yes he should of not pushed you , If that had happen to James car he would not just hit him but done a lot worse,  and you know what i mean ;)

Maria,  these two posts are bang out of order.

I will not be slandered like this, by you or anyone else. I do NOT react in a violent way, and if you keep implying such things I will request that your posts are removed!

The bloke has a split lip and cut cheek.

While his boss is prepared to cover the careless damage to the car, I presume, once the nature and cause of the fitters injuries are revealed, his company will support him in a prosecution for assult / ABH / GBH etc?

If I were in your shoes, I would be waiting for the police to come and arrest me on suspicion of assult.

response to you reply above
Listen you, lets just get this correct, he grabbed me first, he then forceble pushed me against his van, this caused swelling to the bottom of my back. He then went to throw a punch at me, before he made contact with my face he was flat on his back and i had returned 2 hits to him.
I was defending myself, if i had not he would have ended putting one on me.

His boss was informed of his actions and the damage that the other guy did to my car, they have offered to repair the car and apologised for the attack.

If anyone should be pressing charges, it should be me, but I dealt with it MAN to MAN.

I dont care what you think, you was not present ,so dont know the full issue.

If you are prepared to recieve damage to your car, then someone proceeding to attack you and just stand there, then that is up to you.

But sorry mate, not me.

Listen you, lets just get this correct,

He then went to throw a punch at me

This wasn't mentioned in the original post - it puts a slightly different shade on things then...

I was not going to do chapter and verse, just the forcable push against the van and him grabbing me is enough to defend myself

Mate, you may have taken my post the wrong way. As you say, nobody else was there to see the situation -

I'm just thinking that, if he has visible damage to him from the attack, and you dont - he may try and press charges - and if it were me - I would be worrying about a visit from the police (even if I didn't think it was justified...)

If it was a case of having to defend myself before getting seriously hurt, then yes,  I would certainly give it a good go.. the way I read it was that he pulled you off his colleague, and you smacked ten bells outta him.. so maybe I read it the wrong way :y

No mate, I grabbed his mates jacket to get the zips off the car and pulled him up, his mate then came around and grabbed me, I had let go of his jacket before his mate even got to us.

Speaking of worrying about visits from the police......

Earlier on, driving to work, it started drizzling. Going along the A48 m towards the M4, the car in front of me, in the outside lane of the A48M, put his foglights on. There was nothing in the inside lane, but he wouldn't move over, He was another one of these "I'm doing 69mph, so why would you want to pass me" idiots.

Anyhow, kepy back, but gave him a couple of light flashes.. to which he wound down his window, and wagged his finger at me. Twit.

I moved into the inside lane, with a view to a cheeky undertake. However, he also moved to the inside lane. He was basically trying to "police" me, from doing over 70mph. I could have had real road rage at him, had I not been so laid back about it!

When we hit the M4, we came across some roadworks.

When the cars were at a standstill, he got out of his car, and took photo's of my licence plate, and my face... saying the police will be interested in talking to you.

Needless to say, I gave a big cheesy smile for the camera ;D

There are some strange people out there...

When the M4 got quieter, He then proceeded to do 65mph in lane three, causing havoc with all the traffic!

A white van that got behind him, didn't take such a kind approach as me though.... !
