Radio Crackle
« on: 12 September 2008, 16:52:58 »

Have noticed lately from time to time, that the radio in my miggy crackles, interrupting reception.

I've now realised, that it only ever happens when the heated rear screen is on to clear off the mist.

Can anybody tell me why, and what I can do about it?

Also has it happened to you?

Thanks

If its a saloon the heating element in rear screen is the radio aerial - will affect poor reception stations if covered in moisture.   Is it ok with htd rear screen on with window dry?

Generally its an earthing issue......just because it has a B-sting aerial, it might still use the rear window for the radio.

The sure fire way to tell is if there is a pair of vertical sections to the heated element about 1/4 of the way in from each end

No vertical sections on rear window so I wonder why the HRW causes interference??
