Looe wouldn't be my first choice destination if you are travelling all the way from Scotland to Cornwall. It is a nice town but is just a little too far from West Cornwall in my opinion.

For me, the north coast is more spectacular for scenery and the beaches and coastal walks are beautiful.

On the plus side, you are not too far from Plymouth which has plenty of shops and the theatre if you like that kind of thing.

I don't think that you can beat areas like St Ives, Padstow or even the outer reaches of Newquay, although avoid Newquay itself unless you are on a stag weekend. From any of these areas you are less than an hour to virtually anywhere in Cornwall and only 20 - 30 mins coast to coast.

One other thing, if you are planning this trip for this year, the Looe Caravan Club site is closed until 21st December.  :(

Looe caravan club site is lovely, toilet blocks are nice, plus it has its own swimming pool :y not mant CC sites do have pools.. some of the pitches are on slopes, but not all, and some are hard standing.
It is in a central area I think. Just down the road and you are in Looe itself, only 10 minutes from the Gorgeous Polperro (really worth a visit), Not far to go to Plymouth for the day, plus there is a Morrisons about twenty minutes away.
