brakes lock up
« on: 17 November 2008, 09:57:02 »

    i have a bit of a issue
when i brake mostly in the rain it seems as if the front wheels are locking up ?
i have checked the pads and discs and all are good ,,    dont happen all the time but only if you put more brake preesure than normal ( when some dozy idiot decides to pull out in front of you )
   any ideas plz mick

look forward to your answers  :y :y

Is abs coming on?

Obviosuly, if its locking (or abs coming on) you are braking harder than the chassis (inc suspension, wheels and tyres) can handle in those particular conditions  :-/

What are the rear brakes doing? If thhey're not doing anything/enough you might be braking more on the front than you should be .....  :-/

Could be those budget tyres have poor wet performance.  Could also be that if very new still, may still have a slight 'sheen' to them...

thinking about it, if uneven left/right braking, could be causing the more effective side to lock prematurely
