Lambda / oxygen sensor
« on: 21 November 2008, 19:59:55 »

Hi, EML came on so had it scanned - lambda sensor came up.

I've read its quite rare for these to fail, but I guess I have to trust the tech 2?

Bit of a fiddly job apparently - should I leave it to my mechanic? Ta.

I had a code for this stored... Been OK since I changed the exhaust. It looks like the Omega has a common wiring fault for these. I would check that before changing the sensor - I am assuming that the wire to mine was moved enough to make it OK now.

Easy enough to do but just remember when fitting the new one not to cross thread the sensor as you put it in, you need to put it in striaght and carefully. Use the grease it comes with and smear it around the thread before fitting.
