Exhaust question

On my 1999 Elite the nearside downpipe has gone on the bend , is this the CAT section??
Cant see many good diagrams on the net and im no engineer, any pointers would be good....thanks

Is it the cat thats gone or just the heatshield wrapped round it??

Its the outer pipe, just rotted away and i can see the inside pipe which looks fine. it runs ok between 1200 and 2000 rpm but is lumpy outside these. I obviously need to get it sorted asap , will it be ok to drive locally to get it fixed.

The outer pipe is just soundproofing. If you rip it off (not as easy as you might think) it will be fine, just a bit more noisy. The inner pipe is really thick and you'll have to hit something to hole it.
