Mysterious part??

Replaced the battery last night, and sitting in front of the battery tray, loose, was this:

(notice the chewing gum packet for scale   ;) )




Does anybody know what this is   :-? :-?

Ive never come across that in/on any of the omega's Ive had, unless its part of an engine component that I havent removed or stripped down,

Definetely a seal,dont know if its from an Omega,but if it was missing from the engine I,m sure you would have known about it by now.
Most likely been discarded at some time by a mechanic or previous owner.

me thinks its been dropped in ther by accident, certainly nothing in the engine bay that would have that fitted to it.

Yep... Definitely a camshaft seal :y :y :y

Oh... And if it's come loose from your engine (Which is impossible!) then you'd most definitely know by the fact you'd be using as much oil as you are petrol ;D ;D ;D

Looks like camshaft seal. Sits just behind the cam timing pulley.  No chance of it 'falling off', and if it did, you would know.

So dont worry about it.
