There is an explanation in the FAQ section but the picture has been moved/lost in the ether.

Basically there are 4 weights, you can ignore the bottom 2. 1st is kerbside weight (full tank of fuel and an average weight driver), 2nd is Maximum train weight (I.E. car + passengers + fuel + pikey palace) all dependant on your driving license and you holding the appropriate categories.

I towed a caravan for many years with the Omega, if you are new to it then go for the 85% rule, its not law but will guide you........85% rule is whatever your kerb weight is of your miggy keep the caravan weight at 85% of that when loaded.

an experienced caravanner can tow up to 100% of the cars kerb weight, do NOT ever go above this as it will be unsafe....tail wagging the dog.

right just looked and the first weight says 2170 kgs....the next weight says 4020 kgs...so does that mean the max weight off the caravan can be no more that 1850 kgs...4020 kgs minus 2170 kgs equals 1850 kgs......

pikey palace ha ha ha like it ;D

85% off 2170 kgs is 1844.5 kgs so 1850 kgs about right

Have another look mate........you certainly cannot tow a caravan weighing 1850kg, off top of my head my 2.6 miggys kerb weight was around 1565kg, my caravan was 1200kg fully loaded and that was a Ace Award 5 berth.

3.0

If you are still not sure go to your caravan dealer and they have data on all cars regarding the towing capabilities, they will advise, you need to be 100% sure you get the right caravan weight or you will be unsafe and you will stuff up your gearbox/Engine etc.
