 :o

The price of being a fashion victim, eh?

...and as phones go it's not a good one.

Yep, its about 40 a month for the phone contract with O2 which you are committed to for 18 moths...plus about 275 for the phone.

It has got a fancy GUI but, no 3G support and the camera is awful....

I wonder what the battery life's like?

I saw a report where someone had dissected one and it was a bit of a kludge. Separate chipsets for everything. Makes me think it might be a bit thirsty.

Its average but, it doesn't have 3G so that keeps the power down considerably....it also has no memory card provision.

True. Nothing like 3G for draining the battery.

As many here know, I use a Windows phone (not Smartphone, but proper touchscreen type), and for the most part works very well.  Its quite old (3 or 4 yrs), so no 3G.

It does occasionally need the odd reboot - it starts to slow down over the period of a few days.  Its normally shortly after I've used it for web browsing...

we were discussing this when I came down to do the tractor head.
mine is the 3g version and it chomps its way through the battery, I rarely get more than 3/4 of a day.....
and it needs a restart at least once a day....

Wonder if theyve improved that in WM6?
Can't say I've seen much improvement from 2003 so far with 5.

I used to have one of the universal, chopped it in for a Hermes, big mistake, the universal may have been big and bulky, but it was a bloody nice phone and even today they are fetching good money, i regret getting rid of mine.

none of this nancy boy micro SD crap, full sized SD that was reliable, sat nav never locked up, the only shame was there wasnt much RAM in it.

i have been tempted by the replacement to the universal, the HTC Shift or the HYC advantage, both of them are the wrong side of £500, the shift is closer to £900!!! however that does have a 40 gig HD and 1gig of ram, i would imagine that would do the job

Fancy a Kaiser next, pity Tmo want nearly £300 for an upgrade.
Uni has been ok but I found my old blue angel to be a better phone tbh, and the replacement screens are much cheaper when you break em.

I'am after a new one. Mines an Orange m500 I think, but on Vodafone.  I like size, weight, speed, but could do with something running WM5 or later (so battery dying isn't an issue!), wifi, possibly more grunt.

Also borrowed an XDA Exec, despite supposedly faster processor, I find it frustratingly slow...
