small auto box problem
« on: 29 April 2009, 13:29:54 »

afternoon everyone,

You might remember me posting this back in janurary but decided to finally get it sorted. When I press the brake pedal it won't release the gear out of park, I have to flick the switch manually. A few people suggested it could be the brake switch above the pedal, but the brake lights work fine. Could it be the switch next to the gear leaver under the surround? If so what is this part called?

Many thanks

It'll be the brake switch ..... trust us  ;) there's 2 sets of contacts in there. Make sure you fit correctly too, otherwise  you could lose your cruise ....... as I did!  :y  :y  :y

Interesting. Before I changed my gearbox my car "jammed" in Park so only used N for parking up and starting. Then after new box put in it won't start in Neutral but works fine in Park. maybe the switch got jiggled during the works?
