in the omega i mostly use 95, have used 98 a few times and cant say i notice much diffrence, unlike my rallye where the diffrence is night and day!

also i try to stay away from supermarket fuel. I tend to use shell, but thats because theres one at the bottom of my street.

Whatever I'm passing when it needs some.

Generally Shell or cheapo Asda, as I get discount on these.

In the Omega I use mostly Tesco 95 , but do fill 1 tank in 3 with BP ultimate for its cleaning properties. I do get slightly better economy on the 97 1-2 mpg by the computer.

In the TVR I use Tesco 99 - its cheap and gives me lots of lovely pops and bangs on the over-run. But again 1 fill in 3 is with BP ultimate to make sure she keeps running at her best.

Never noticed any real performance increase in the Omega between 95 and Ultimate 97

Propane where possible, as it's cheaper and better for the environment :P

Super unleaded in the R1, as the extra cost is repaid with better economy, and it's highly recommended in an engine with a compression ratio over 12:1 and revving to over 12,000 RPM. Pretty sure it'll lose power on 95 RON.

Usually 95 RON in the BMW, even though the book recommends 97 RON for best performance, it runs fine on 95 and with the price now over £1/litre and a fuel economy of 18 MPG on a good day I'm not paying an extra 10p/litre for super :(

In all my BMW's i preffered to use V power and BP Ultimate, the engines drove and generally felt better, and in most of them prevented the engine from pinking, so only owning my Elite for a few weeks, what fuel do you use and any improvements using super fuels.
The knock sensor should take care of that

I was going to say, on any modern engine with knock control I'd be very concerned about pinking. On older cars with less efficient head designs, no knock control and / or perhaps designed for high octane leaded fuel it's less surprising.

Generally, I use Shell as these are the cheapest  nearest to me.  I will not use supermarket fuel in the cars although I do use their Diesel in the vans.

A few years ago, I did a fill up virtually the entire tank once in the cavalier at Sainsbury's, because of the 5p off vouchers.  The car did not run very well, and as soon as the branded stuff was back in the tank, normal running was restored.

I don't believe in paying over the odds for the super fuels though.
