oil and water in plug 4
« on: 25 May 2009, 13:20:00 »

hi
i have had a few issues with my 2.2 sport, so had oi checked today and found there was oil and water in plug 4, causing a miss fire and all sorts of other problems.
Any ideas on what may be causign the problem, i think it is either the head or the gasket.
many thanks

Firstly, as its No4, check the 'sponge' bit on the scuttle above No4 is not soaking.

You might be lucky, might just be water dripping down. The Oil just being grime off it.

HG failures on 4 pot engines generally cause poor running. Not sure, even if HG had failed, it would get into plug wells without it being obvious elsewhere.

Oil in plugwells could be the old favourite of cam cover gaskets
