Thanks for everyone whose taken the trouble to reply.

My plan is to get the car booked in with an a/c specialist. Seems that no matter what I do at this stage, until I know theres enough coolant in the system I can't progress.

So now I'm on the hunt for a good specialist I can trust.....anyone care to recommend somewhere around Leeds?

I'll keep you posted as to how it goes, but if it does turn out to be something other than low fluid, rest assured I'll be back for some more advice.
