i believe there was 3.
only uk models to have a maf was x25dt.  y25dt also had maf, but was opel only

Iirc theres only one maf for the 2.5td part no 90528813(which will be on your maf just to double check the number)

tried unplugging MAF today and car was flat as opps.

plugged back in car has nothing below 2000 revs but above that it does go well if you ring it's neck. i reckon my dad pootles about in it judging by the clouds of black smoke i had from exhaust. The speedo moves round at quite a rate when giving it some. I thought all must be ok if still pulling up hill at 90 ish (on private road.... ;))

one thing i noticed is it's very easy revving. very eager but massive turbo lag.

Convinced him to try some forte diesel additive and give it some stick now and then

Sounds like it just needs some fresh engine oil in there...

check the wastegate is not too sticky as well.
