Shocker seems to be creeping up towards bonnet
« on: 03 July 2009, 19:20:25 »

Ok why would a shocker seem to be trying to escape the inner wing to spear the bonnet?

Its got a definite gap between the rubber ring/washer/topnut assembly and the wing/support/hole, about 1/4 inch, when you squat down and look towards it, you can see its shoved through the hole and is about 1/4 to 3/8 higher than the shocker at the other side.

If this was my car, I would be worried to drive it home...

If anyone can point me to a pdf or a jpg / exploded diagram of how the shocker affixes to the car, then I may be able to hazard a guess at whats bust, the cars gone now and i did not want to blindly jump in with spanners, been bitten before doing that lol

sounds like the top of your suspension leg has got a bit old and the parts ie rubbers and so on need replaceing, if driven and you hit a bump or pot hole you could have a new bonnet ornament, in short it is very dangerous so dont drive before its repaired.
