Cylindrical Object ??
« on: 04 July 2009, 23:42:04 »

JUSt near the trottle assembly on my 98 V6, kinda ontop, is a black cylinder thing with a connector plug attached..

What is it ?   I ask because i've recently had a sqweaking noice.  Opened up the bonnet and could have sworn it was coming from said object. Tapped it and made sure the connector was firmly in place and the noise went away..Touch wood, it hasn't come back since..Any ideas please ?

The only thing I can think of is the Exhaust Gas Recirculating Valve (EGR Valve)

Worn gasket to plenum, loose bolt could be the cause of air escaping.
