rough idle
« on: 14 July 2009, 13:42:47 »

It seems to me that the engine idle is very rough and very slow (450 rpm). Does this indicate a failing sensor somewhere? Not getting any codes relating to it....the moment the revs rise it smooths out - any advice from you good people appreciated as always :)

With A/C off, 450 is the correct RPM for v6, rising to about 550/600 with a/c on.

ac on or off makes little odds to my tick over tbh, however my none Dbw 2.5 was as TB describes.

Check vac system?
Maf related? (not sure unplugging would be concusive)
Clean throttle butterflys, and small jets that bypass them (iirc)?
Blocked exhaust?
Er...failing that Tech 2 with a member  :-/

Just seen your location, tech 2 owning members bit rare over there afaik.
