I,m removing the doors on my old 2.5 estate.
How hard are they to remove?
Is it just a matter of removing the strap and pushing out the pins?

Pretty much yes! WARNING! These doors are really, really heavy. I used a piece of 7" x 3" with a routed slot down the one wide side on a trolley jack just to take the weight. It also makes it easier to pull away enough to lower it to ground level

after taking checkstrap off i knocked/pulled the bottom pin out 1st, putting an allen key in its place, did same with the top one. makes it easier & stops the door falling on ya foot.

What do you use to remove the door pins as I have been offered a good rear drivers door to replace my slightly rusted one is there anyone in the mods that could give me a hand

Sorry for that but new to the car and never had to take doors off a car before and men't mids not mods lol my last vxl had better doors and its the rear drivers door only bit of rust on the car as its low mileage

i've got a little bit of square tube with a cut-out ground into one end.....

Do you use new pins guessing knocking them out ruins the old ones and is it the fact I've not got the weight off the door the reason I can't get the pins to move

Try knocking them in a bit first to get them moving, then try to get them out. New pins were about 50 pence when I last bought some ..... but that was years ago.
