I've just fitted the Vauxhall 95amp one to mine, its large but does fit and its the same price as the 85amp one ;)

I see you're becoming a TD expert now Pete, nothing to do with the work you did on mine is it? ::) And I see you also drive one too.

first off i have never changed one as never needed to!! however the cold water trick is just a way to test the fuel temp sensor is working or not!! i never intended for people to carry bottles of cold water around ;D
however the fuel temp sensor is apparently changeable while the pump is on the car, and not suposed to be too bad a job although fiddly!! for thse that have the rr download if you go to the pump it shows the temp sensor location, and any good bosch agent should be able to supply the sensor :y

a friend has just told me her dad used to keep a cool box and frozen peas to cool down their pump ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D at least my water bottles come in handy when the dogs want a drink in the car :y

Hey thanks for all the replies guys Very helpfull
ive been looking on the net all day for the "root" cause of this problem all day i appriciate the ebay box would work / does work but it does seem to me the fault is caused by the Fuel tempreture sensor in the pump as the Very tallented "OT" says
its a common problen with all Bosch VP type pumps

Its all done  ;D ;D ;D
whiped the top of the pump swaped the thermister / fuel tempreture sensor ....from the same type of pump gave it a good clean put it all back together its now better than its ever been im well chuffed
