ABS valve relay
« on: 17 February 2010, 15:45:00 »

After diagnostics on my Omega's ABS, i've got error code 19: valve relay circuit. As i've found out, it's the main ABS relay, which gets +12V as soon as ignition is on. The problem is that this relay is inside the ABS ECU. So could anyone, who has seen a removed ABS ECU, say if this relay is serviceable or should i just look for a new ECU?

If 98 on then you need to replace the unit. It can be refurbed. If exchanging for a second hand one it must be exactly the same as the one that you've taken off, e.g if your car is a 2.5 manual saloon then you need the unit from another 2.5 manual saloon of the same vintage, otherwise you will need a tech 2 session.

Car's year is 96. I know about the need of reprogramming the unit if changed, that's why i would like to repair the old one...
