yes they can, but, don't! All you do is transfer the problem elseware, clean breathers, genuine gaskets, Omega ones work well

Yes if you fancy the idea of changing crank seals instead of cam cover gaskets.
As the student says omega covers and clean breathers and you won't have a problem.

VX dealers might do them but they will be expensive no doubt.
Have a look in the parts for sale section and contact some of the breakers; they usually have good covers in stock.
Make sure when they are fitted that the bolts are torqued to 8Nm.

To do: Replace brake discs and pads; adjust already replaced shoes; check for leaks in oil cooler, cambelt area, crank seals, sump, dipstick; replace osf door; replace a tyre; clean, MOT.

Why do you need new ones are they damaged or has some spanner twirling chimp spun you the line that they've warped because he can't fit them properly?

It is very unlikey you need new ones, at guess some monkey mechanic has said 'they are warped mate!'

As mentioned, use geniune gm gaskets, black sealant, keep breathers clean, torque covers to 8Nm, and you won't have an issue.

I DIY'd my 2.2 cam cover nearly 2 years and 35k ago, still perfect, not a sign of a leak.

The myth about warped plastic covers is put about by incompitent mechanics without the brainpower to use a torque wrench.

8Nm!!!

Sounds like he's a real specialist, or should that read really speshul? ;D
Plastic cam covers are fine provided you use genuine gaskets and black sealant from VX, use a torque wrench to tighten to 8Nm (no more) and make sure the breathers are kept clear.
