Methinks someone has remembered an old trick on releasing a stuck starter motor ... used to work in 1960 odd !!!!

Has absolutely no relevance to the present problem however !!! which is EXCESSIVE cranking  NOT inability to crank !!!

Yes also worked for sticki starters but again didnt realise we were on about an auto
