tuning box

hello every1 i bought a tuning box for my 2.5td,the problem is when it goes to full boost the power is cut and it keeps trying to boost full and the same thing happens every time, if i switch  off the tuning box it runs fine,mabe its the map sensor???

you want to chip the TD rather than go the route of tuning boxes, get much better gains, as the TD was de-tuned for Vx, and chipping it brings it back to full BMW Spec.

Also is it an auto? If so, your going to need to replace the box with a stronger AR35 as the current one won't last long with that extra power going through  :y

Have box fitted to mine. Had no problems what so ever with it. Pulls very well indeed. No clouds of black smoke or boost problems.  I would double check you have it connected correctly. as far as i know the amount of boost is controlled by the wastegate, so if yours is overboosting maybe your wastegate is not opening correctly/sticking but you only notice it with the box on. Worth a look if nothing else  :)

TD has a mechanical wastegate, not electronically controlled, so genuine overboost is a weird one.

How do you know it is genuinely overboosting?

What does this thing connect into, the boost pressure sensor?

Sounds a bit naff to me to be honest particularly seeing as how cheap a new map is for them

This from a crowd called THE ORIGNAL TUNING BOX,u you get a life time cover with the box.it has all the proper connections very solid connections,not them pc connections uyou see everywhere
