H.B.V.

Just a quick note for facelift owners. The heater bypass valve is located under the inlet manifold and not under the wiper blade scuttle as shown in a "how to" on the forum.

(Sarcasm mode :OFF)

.... HBV is at the back under scuttle .. nowhere else...

Sorry mate .. but with the number of folks here who have changed the HBV ... I think an error like that might have been spotted a while back .. :(

Perhaps Greenman's valve was relocated by a previous owner?

Can you get a picture of it, Greenman?

1. this is a 4-pot not a V6

2. Depends whether he means "between mani and engine", "down by the hard plastic coolant pipe" or "aft of the manifold, but low down".  ::)

Lets see?

no idea :-) HBV is under the scuttle. If you collected all the skin from people who have changed them, you could clone a man :y

Thinking back when I replaced H.B.V. there was only the three hoses holding it in place and no way of securing it in the engine bay.I,ll try for a pic.but I,ve no idea how to upload onto site.

Can you describe roughly where in this image (of a 2.0) you found yours?

Sounds as though someone relocated it for easier future access, using some non-factory hoses.

If you want to upload a photo, host on somewhere like photobucket.com, then paste in the link after pressing the "insert image" button, third from left above the U.   :)
