Bu**ers!!.....this is becoming such a common thing now in some areas >:( Makes you wonder if it's worthwhile having a decent looking car these days - maybe we should all have armoured personell carriers instead and see if the little fu**ers can key them!! ::)

Happened to me a few weeks ago. Parked the car and went into the office, came back 10 minutes later someone had reversed into the corner of the bumper. All I can wish for is that one day it will happen to their pride and joy. I know how you feel Belfastowl :'(

Accidents do happen its the fact that whoever hit my car drove off without leaving their details or even so much as a sorry.

This is exactly the problem. How do kids get disciplined - parents, school teachers, police etc etc aren't allowed to touch them, and so many kids have cottoned on to this so they don't give a sh*t about anyone or anything. Another couple of decades and we will have complete anarchy in this country and I for one hope I won't be around to see it :(

I don't want to sound too old fashioned but when I was a kid, if I misbehaved my old man would give me a good hiding. I might not have liked it at the time, but it taught me a lesson and respect. As a result I don't think I turned out too bad - at least I like to think I'm honest and respectful. I brought both my sons up in a similar fashion (at least until I spilt up with Mrs bob.dent) and they have both turned out to be good kids.

Am I just getting old and cynical? :-/

I make sure our boy is well disciplined. He must have respect for other peoples property. Even now at 2 yrs old, if he damages something on purpose during a tantrum or moment of defiance, he's dealt with un no uncertain terms and his privileges are whittled down. It's a painful thing to do at times, and occassionaly I feel like I'm going over the top a bit, but I'm damned if I'm going to raise a brat or a ned!!

A few weeks ago, I was in a car park and a bunch of Chavs were getting into their clapped out heap of a car. It was parked next to an 'R' plate Ford Escort, which while not the most desirable car in the world, it was in pristine condition. One of the Chav Bint's opened the rear door of the Chavmobile and hit the Escort, upon which she let out an exclaimation. She then casually sat in the back seat of the car and lit up a roll-up.

So I saunters over and said, " I hope you're going to leave your contact details so that you can pay for the damage to the car!", to which she said, "A didnae touch it!!", I then said, "Yes you did, there's a dent in the back wing with the same colour paint as your car where you hit it with the door!". She said, "Och that's nuthin' ye kin haurdly see it!", so I left her with, "I hope you do the decent thing!".

I wish I taken their number 'cos somewhat predictably, they left without leaving a note!

What a bunch of ballbags!!!  >:(

Some people may have just not even noticed they had done it - you do get people who don't care but you also get people who don't even realise.

Not excusing - just that some people don't even know they did it

I have a question which is slightly related to this thread, well sort of. Although my Omega is old I take good care of it and if I have to go the the super market I am one of those people who parks where there are no other cars parked so theres less chance of getting the old girl damaged. Why is it that when I come out of the super market there is a car parked next to mine even though there are probably 10 empty spaces all around my car?

An ex-police driving instructor told me once to always park your car beside either expensive, new or well looked after cars. There's less chance of yours being damaged then!!  ;)
