oil in water tank

hi i am new on hear i have a omega 2.5 v6 1998 check oil and water levels today to find water tank caked in oil even though dip stick still ok checked oil cap no mayo no overheating no smoke seen other post which are like mine all stating oil cooler but i have no clue and garage keeps saying h/gasket any help would be great as need  car for work plus a rough price would be great or how hard to do yourself but must say i have no clue thanks paul

garage is talking bull its defo oil cooler  :y

About £130 for parts if you DIY, its quite straight forward  :y

ok thanks but how straight forward is it for a novice thanks again for help :) just checked again defo no mayo on dip stick or oil cap just lots of oil in water tank and at what cost to be repaired dont think i am capable of diy

Its quite easy to do, the worst part is getting the oil out of the cooling system.

Whereabouts are you? Maybe there's a forum member nearby who'll give you a hand and/or do it for a better price than most garages :)

yeah as mentioned post up your location, there are few members who can easily do this for you at a very reasonable rate. They also know what they are doing unlike most garages!

ohh this site is a life saver i live in hastings east sussex if there anyone out there that can do it and live close or willing to do it GREAT cos i was reading some instuctions and got lost thanks again just in case paul
