Sat watching The Sum of All Fears...

Hated it - nothing like the book
One thing that annoys me is when people criticise films purely for not being like the book it was based on.  What works in a book will not work on screen for a variety of reasons, which is why films are never like the books.

Take 007 films - possibly the most successful film franchise ever - none of them are like the original books.  They are still (mostly) good films.
But it was a so-so thriller.  killed a couple of hours whilst i fixed a couple of issues with the forum...

Went from old to a boy, lost the wife, lost the kids, story was not that similar apart from the bomb - should have paid more for Harrison Ford

But does the plot change matter in the slightest was the point I was getting at?

I agree, not a good film. Hunt for Red October is best of the Clancy films imho

All is right with the world.
To my right hand is a glass of whisky, tv remote and mouse.

Lap top on my lap, where else!
The Italian Job on the TV, OK not the real one but.....
Youngest in bed.
SWMBO upstairs faffing!
Just logged for tonight, bring it on!!
What more could I ask for? well perhaps the Omega to be working
 :y :y :y

Got me down to a T'. Except my missus is in work ( nursing home ) and i'm watching The Song Remains The Same recorded the other night on Ch 4, whiskey 12yr malt, Sunday dinner prepared and cats fed. Trouble is that when I have a drink, I tend to eat a lot, so bang goes one of my new years reso's.
