Was out on a run today, Intercooler hose came off my intake manifold at the front.
(as mentioned in other post).
Reason for mentioning here is,
Just after this happened, once replaced and tightened, i felt this vibration you speak of for the first time. was like a loose wheel on the back, like a slight knocking when cruising in 5th at about 40mpg (1600rpm). as soon as i let off, or put my foot down and the turbo kicks in a little more, then it would disappear!?

(and before anyone says anything, ive check everything else too, was definitely engine vibration i felt)

Later on, i didnt notice it at all.......So very strange.

Is this similar to the type of vibration you have happening?

yep!! try it on a flat road top gear 15 to 1600 rpm and feather the throttle, if you get it right it will shake the whole car around but as soon as you back it off or push the throttle it goes!! damned annoying!! especially when in a queue of traffic travelling at the wrong speed, have to select asnother gear to get rid of it!!! only happens on certain cars though

Soft engine mounts affected by the extra torque/power. Had the same problem a long time ago in Fiat 124 sports.

As yours has the '427' ECU, it seems like you've actually got the problem that several members have experienced when chipped.

When I had the chip installed on my TD it drove ok but chucked out heavy smoke on hard acceleration. No stuttering around 1500rpm at first, but eventually I guess after around 5,000  miles use. A dose of 'Diesel Magic' in a new filter helped matters with the stuttering but it was still present.
Obviously blocking the injectors more easily, hence more smoke when fitting this type of chip. But yes it was bloody good fun to drive :y

well i have the 007 chip fitted in micks ex car now, pulls just as hard as the full fat version but no smoke or very little anyway!!
still got the stutter though,
as regards the unable to replicate it, you need to be on a dead flat piece of road get to 1600 rpm then back the throttle off till its not accelerating and not decellerating, it will appear!!
but the slightest oincline or down hill bit and it wont and it only happens between 1500 and 1650 rpm

What's the difference between the chips then? I think mine is a full fat one. But tbh I'm not sure lol.
Certainly feela good, but essentially the saying is true,

"no smoke, no poke!"

It's how diesels work.

lol the stealth map, called 007 is around 10bhp down on the full fat chip but its enough to stop the smoking, still pulls like billyo though!! :y

no we didnt cos 50 in top or rather 47/49 is exactly where the stutter occurs, unfortunately the roads round brackley are not very flat!! so we spent ages trying to get it to do it and capture it on tech2 to read the live data!!
but TB was feeling queasy trying to read while travelling so i could,nt go any faster for fear of  a pebble dash effect on the interior :o :'( lololol
